What is Talk Nerdy to Me Lover?

Talk Nerdy to Me Lover was an LA-based blog and digital media platform that chronicled the adventures of founder Jen Friel — an early adopter who built a life and career entirely through social media before "influencer" was even a word. The site ranked among the top 110K most visited websites globally at its peak, covering nerd culture, pop culture, and the emerging world of social media in real time. It was one of the earliest examples of a personal brand becoming a genuine media platform.

My Contributions

As Co-Editor, I was part of the core team during a formative period for both the blog and the broader creator economy it was helping to define.

• Co-managed editorial production for a globally ranked blog, editing and formatting submissions from 30+ contributors while producing original content across nerd and pop culture.

• Helped design and launch new blog content on a platform ranked among the top 110K most visited websites worldwide.

• Organized and hosted community events and social media meetups ("Tweet-ups") for contributors and readers, building real-world connections around the brand.

• Identified and pursued partnership opportunities with brands, blogs, influencers, and live events to expand the platform's reach and collaborations.
